Four-hole objective turret is in reverse position and ball-bearing mounted for smooth, precise changes in magnification. Viewing head is inclined 45° and rotates 360° for easy sharing by more than one person. Separate low position coarse and fine focusing controls with slip clutch to prevent damage to focusing system. Large 135 mm x 135 mm stage has a low profile mechanical specimen holder with low-position coaxial x-y controls. Tension adjustment eliminates stage drift. Safety rack stop prevents damage to slides and objective lenses. Illumination: Built-in 5-watt flourescent illumination delivers greater light and longer life than standard 20-watt tungsten bulbs. On/ off switch is base mounted. Includes a 1.25 N.A. Abbe condenser with spiral focusing mount, iris diaphragm, swing-out filter holder, and blue filter.
